Marco A. Mata

About

Marco is a winning award composer born in Costa Rica and based in Houston, Texas. At a young age, he was interested in music and learned how to play the piano, which nowadays is his main instrument, and from the age of 16, he began to compose songs. Marco developed the skill to write melodies and harmonies that express the right emotions using both orchestra and synthesizers with great comfort and creating his own style of composition. He is building the way to become a successful film, TV, and media scorer by working on many short films and projects, practicing, and learning new information daily.

Since starting his film composing career in early 2023, Marco has worked on multiple films and projects. In the OIF Orlando Film Festival, he won the Best Music Award with Forest of Fools (2023). Marco has worked on other projects like Hemlock (2023), nominated for best short film in the Orlando Film Festival. Other projects Marco has worked on as a composer are: The kid TV show Papa Pirate, Are You Real, My Safe Place, The Big Chop, the documentaries Prison of the Mind and Internationals, and the Krypto KroniclesE-Books: Book of Sandiva.

With more projects coming in the future, Marco keeps composing and learning to keep improving his abilities and reach new horizons in the world of music composition.
